levi office chair wins iF Design Award 2020, marking fifth accolade with international prestige

Itoki Corporation (Head Office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President: Yoshiro Hirai) is pleased to announce that its levi office chair has won an iF Design Award 2020 (Discipline: Product), representing one of the world’s most prestigious design competitions. This marks the fifth accolade for the levi, following the German Design Award 2020 (Gold/Excellent Product Design; Germany), HiP at NeoCon Awards 2019 (US), Good Design Award 2019 (Japan), and ICONIC Awards 2020 (Best of Best; Germany).

About the award-winning product

The levi is a light-task chair that achieves simplicity in design and seating comfort without the user having to make many adjustments. Innovative functions embedded and concealed in the backrest and seat accommodate a range of user positions, from forward tilt for desk work to reclining for relaxed use of mobile devices. The breadth of the main unit’s color palette and fabric options allows the levi to be integrated into various spaces.

iF Design Award

The iF Design Award has been organized since 1953 by iF Industrie Forum Design e.V. (iF), an international organization based in Hanover, Germany, dedicated to promoting good design. Each year, excellent designs are selected from around the world primarily in industrial products but expanding across seven disciplines: Product, Packaging, Communication, Service Design, Architecture, Interior Architecture, and Professional Concept.

The 2020 event attracted 7,298 submissions from 56 countries and regions. The entries were judged by 78 celebrated specialists in design and architecture.
