Project Concept

Established in 1963, SANBIRU Co., Ltd runs a wide range of businesses with total building maintenance service as its main business. It is the designated managing company of thirteen facilities in the Chugoku region such as a warm-bathing facility and sports facility, and runs the health exercise facility called "SK Plaza," a management support business and food business. Based in Matsue City, Shimane Prefecture with the motto "Brightly, happily and lively for the local people," the company has developed its business network with sales offices and branch offices in five prefectures in the Chugoku region, Japan. In December 2013, the construction of the new main office building named "San-san Building" with the function to work as the main office and various functions to encourage interaction among the local people was completed.

Assignment

Upon the creation of the office, the requests from the management were:
・To create a relaxing work environment.
・To give back to the local community.

Solutions

・A space that makes employees feel as if they are in the nature.

・Walkways surrounding the non-standard desk island in the center of the work area were made and communication corners were placed where there is a lot of foot traffic.

・Using glass partitions and wooden materials has turned the work area into a space that feels spacious and warm.

・Due to environmental concerns, locally produced materials and the energy-saving task & ambient lighting have been employed.

・The restaurant, children’s learning club, health care club and table tennis club at the headquarters have been established to promote communication with local communities.
